In Photoshop you can have the same effect by combining the “blend-if” layer property and the “apply image” command.

Which is just one way to do it by now, of course.

Excellent tutorial nonetheless, since i’m an utter Fireworks freshman. I’m striving to improve in Fireworks so i can switch to using it instead, as i’m doing a lot of coding (flash) as well.

There is a great filter for Photoshop that will let you do this - Whitewash.

http://www.redprince.net/whitewash/

Also, once you apply this filter, you should run the command Layer > Matting > Remove White Matte. I have this setup as an action and it works very well!
